Girlfriend's birthday!

HELLO, thanks for taking time to read my blog, I really appreciate it =D

As promised in the last post, here is the post on my girlfriend's birthday. Just a foreword: It's nothing extravagant, so don't expect me skydiving with her and landing on the Eiffel tower ok!

But honestly, I feel that guys who are born rich are really lucky because they never have to worry about money. Money in Singapore can really do miracles. Money is king, no money no talk. Especially if you own a car, I read an article that states that the money that you use to buy an average HDB flat can be used to buy an island in another country, YES THAT'S RIGHT A FREAKING ISLAND. If you are able to own a car you are considered rich already.

Back to  what I was trying to say, I feel that guys shouldn't just buy tons of branded stuff for their girlfriend because it really doesn't mean anything. Yes your girl may be extremely happy because it's branded stuff but if your girl truly loves you, she wouldn't be pestering you to get branded stuff for her because the harsh reality is, she loves your money more than you (Go think about it). I don't mean to say ALL girls or ALL guys are like this, I am just saying some are like this. For that matter, I sincerely apologize if you feel offended by this but I am not targeting at anyone at all. I am just expressing my opinion which if you are offended, please exit this blog now thank you. Nonetheless it would obviously be a great boost if you are rich and can afford the luxuries for her(:

What you should do:
  • Secretly plan dates/surprises for her (Girls love surprisesssss)
  • Find out what she likes and take note of whatever she mentions that she likes
    • Eg: A month ago during your casual chat she mentioned that she likes to eat this particular brand/flavour of chocolate and you can surprise her by getting it when she is having her period or feeling down for whatever reason (girls love it when you remember the small little things)
    • You can also take note of her twitter posts, I realize a girl usually likes to post little thoughts on social media especially on twitter, so you can just stalk once in a while and take note of what she likes and dislikes
  • Impress her with pickup lines, cheesy ones also can (Use with caution and do not overuse to the extent that you are getting irritating)
  • Cook for her ( You can refer to my first post for ideas on what to cook for your girlfriend)
  • Unexpectedly pop up and surprise her!
    • Eg: You know she is going to be at the library studying until 4.30pm so you camp there at 4.20 or 4pm if you are really kiasi (LIKE ME HAHAHA), and just surprise her with her favourite chocolate or something
  •  Buy flowers for her (Try hand-pick the roses/flowers that are the most beautiful ones like the ones that are on the verge or blooming or already blooming so that your girlfriend can get the best because she deserves nothing but the best
    • I like to get sunflowers, pink/red roses
    • Try not to stress too much on how many you should get, no need to spend hundreds over dollars just for flowers, chances are she'll smile at it for a while and throw it aside(put it in a vase or bottle of water and wait for it's funeral that's all, but still get it if she likes it)
  •  Be nice to her pets especially dogs, why shouldn't you be nice to animals anyway?
  • Give her unlimited amounts of XOXO
  • Cuddle her to sleep
  • Listen to her rants
  • Be there for her especially when she is down or having her period
Alright enough of the tips, let me just tell you how I celebrated my girlfriend's birthday(:

I actually planned this like quite a few months ago in my head but only when I reached the last month or two before I started actualizing it (research on the prices and where to get what etc). So the main surprise in in the first photo below.

Would like to thank the following:
  1. Wilna (for sacrificing her time to assist me in the transportation of the helium balloons)
  2. Lipin (Gf's sister for being my spy, granting me access and keeping a secret)
  3. Her family for playing along

The birthday present
I did my market research on the price of helium balloons + delivery and what types of balloons should I get, I contacted a seller which I eventually chose based on their website. I chose to self-collect because I feel that delivery is really quite expensive and I do not see the need as it is quite near to my location. After a few rounds of friendly discussion with the store owner, I decided to take 15 normal helium balloons of assorted colours with 3 of it being heart shape ( 2 red 1 pink ) as seen in the photograph below.

As for the present, I really had a hard time sourcing for this particular Charles & Keith wallet that is a new design, Called outlet A, outlet A told me outlet B have it, called outlet B and was informed that they do not have it at all and referred me to outlet C, when I finally contacted outlet C, I was really annoyed because they don't have it either. So not wanting to give up that easily, I went down to one of the outlets and asked and see it for myself, turns out they really don't have it. So I gave up and ordered it online at their website. Delivery was rather fast, it got delivered within 3 working days( they told me at least a week if I'm not wrong). I then went to get some nice wrapping paper to wrap it up which I also had a hard time deciding because they all look so nice.... ( Eventually got the pink one because she likes baby pink) Reason for this present: Her previous wallet is very tattered and is actually spoilt so I decided to get something that is practical yet she likes it.

I made a pack of goodies for her which had sachets of hot chocolate powder, M&M peanut butter chocolate and sour candy if I didn't remember wrongly. Placed it together with the present.  I wrote a letter and printed a pocket-sized photo of us together, laminated it and placed it together with the letter as shown. Remember to trim the sharp edges off so as to protect your girl from getting cut.  Oh yep initially I wanted to place ribbons on the present because it looks kind of plain but I decided to place her favourite lollipops at the corner to replace the ribbons as it's more practical(:

The Surprise
This part is where it gets REEEALLLLLY tricky, I had to enlist the help of her sister and eventually whole family LOL! I contacted her sister a week in advanced and explained to her of my plan. The plan was for her to open the door for me to enter and place my surprises right after my girlfriend leaves the house to meet me. I camped near her house and literally waited for my girlfriend to leave house and as soon as I heard her leaving the house, I rushed in and place all the surprises because I told my girlfriend to wait for me at the bus stop where I had to lie to her about why I was late when she arrived first. It was literally like rush hour in her house. Everything was perfect and according to my plan but something terrible happened and almost ruined it *Wipes sweat*. After I was done, I rushed down and literally ran but the thing was, I ran FROM the wrong direction, because normally I should have came from the opposite side of the traffic but instead, she saw me coming from her side. I had to nervously lie by saying that I had a diarrhea and ran overshot the bus stop. ( It was a bad excuse but it was what my goldfish brain could think of at that tensed moment) I CANNOT BELIEVE I ALMOST BLEW IT!!!

But she believed me I think and I brought her to Westgate's Paradise Dynasty to have the coloured xiao long baos and dinner without telling her where we are headed for. After we are done with the dinner, I finally managed to convince my girlfriend to enter the playground at the top, We played it BECAUSE WE CAN AND WE ARE KIDS! We climbed up the the confined spaces and slide down. But there was one that was really funny because after we painstakingly reached the top, we realized there was no slide. OUR WHOLE LIFE WAS A LIE. We had to climb down miserably but we did take photos hehe.

After playing a while we went home because she still has school the following morning =(
Good times always flies... Anyway on the entire journey home, I was so excited to see her reaction and her smile! Her whole family had played along by not telling her of the surprise that I had prepared and they even closed the door LOL! When we reached home they were all smirking like um chio if you can understand. I walked her into her room and she literally was surprised and I can tell that happiness took command of her because she was shocked and literally froze for a second there before demanding to know when I did it HAHAHA! At that point I was so happy because my plan WAS A GREAT SUCCESS! *party poppers popping*
But I didn't get a cake like last year ( You can check out the cake that I customized for her in my instagram: @Benjaminyql). So when I decided its time for me to leave because they have to study for their exams and do their homework, her Dad said "Ben lets go get birthday cake together". I was like HELL YEAH! So that's how the future son-in law and father in law bond HAHAHA (we do go out together with her family to movies sometimes too) But honestly I am willing to do anything just to see my girl smile because that is one of the sweetest thing a guy can and should do.

Okay I think I typed quite a length and repetitive post so I'm gonna stop here and let you enjoy the photos(:

This was how it looked and supposed to be like right after I'm done with the placement and stuff
Tip: If she does not seem to like it at all/have any reaction then either one of this is true.
1) She's not a girl
2) Refer to 1

This was how it looked like when we actually got home

 The helium balloons!

 Another selfie of us (:

I appreciate if you have positive feedback but I welcome constructive criticism that can help me improve myself or my ideas and once again YES WE ARE KIDS!

How to know if I look like a kid:
*Inside Udders cafe*
Me: Can I try the blah blah blah ice cream(Alcoholic) pls?
Staff: Are you above 18?
.....

Here's the information about the balloon store if you are interested to get it for your girlfriend/boyfriend ( Girls enjoy the presence of balloons but I would suck the helium and say I love you to my girlfriend)

ThatBalloonShop
Each Helium balloon is $1.80 (Bulk purchase will earn you a discount)
Self-Collection extra $5 (Collection point is at Westmall)
Delivery charge: $30 Nett
I purchased 15 helium balloons in total
-13 regular assorted helium balloons of various colours
- 2 red heart shaped helium balloons
- 1 hot pink heart shaped helium balloon
Total for mine was $32 for the balloons alone if you wish to know
*Note that they do not have a physical store therefore I cannot provide you with the address*

*Thing to note is that the Helium can only be sustained for 6-8 hours so you should gauge it properly as I didn't and most of it were like 'dying' which sucks, I don't want that to happen to you*

For more information you can click here (:
For business enquiries you can also contact the owner  directly on her mobile: 8126 5189 her name is Pang Kai Xin and she's very friendly(: (stated on her website so it's open to the public)

If you need ideas or suggestions on how to improve you can actually whatsapp me if you know me or you can just use the askfm function and we could sort things out to see how I can help you(:
Once again just wanna thank you for reading, if you could, please leave some comments or questions in askfm, would really appreciate it if you could also share it if it helped you in any way or you found it somewhat interesting. Thats it for now thanks again!   =D

AMPED Trampoline Park, Jurong Hill Top, Founder's Bak Kut Teh and Yellow Submarine!

Hey you guys! There's quite alot of stuff that I didn't take photos of and some of the stuff that I wanna blog has photos but their still in my girlfriend's cammy and she hasn't transferred it to her phone so can't send me yet. She's busy with her exams so I don't wanna bother her.

Anyway since she hasn't sent me the photos so I shall just fill  it up with some filler posts, nothing really interesting. I will make a post on my girlfriend's birthday pretty soon. For now I'll just share with you some of my experiences around Singapore and particularly AMPED Trampoline Park @ Jurong.

AMPED Trampoline Park Jurong

Me and my friends went to the one at Jurong because it's really near us. It was really fun but after a round of jumping you will start to realize that the park itself is quite limited actually. The main fun would be jumping into the foam blocks but there is sort of like an informal queuing system whereby you allow people who you think was already there waiting to go first then you stand behind them.

Post-jump shot of me and my BFF and friends(:

Black White Black White Ngee Ann Pride with my BFFS(:

Alright here is an embarrassing video of me jumping into the foam blocks

Must try/do:
  • Jump into the foam block area
  • Get a free bottle of cold plain water (Each customer is entitled to 1 bottle each for free)
  • Jump on top of the 'pyramid'
But as always there are really a few safety rules that you MUST adhere to. Most are really idiot proof but I'll explain it just in case you don't understand the rationale behind these rules. I'm just going to go through a few rules that I feel is the most important ones.
  1. No double jumping: This means when someone is on a trampoline, you do not jump right on it especially when they are unaware/resting, this is because if you jump right in with them on it they would fly away. You do not want that to happen, this is not funny so please don't try it especially if it's a small kid or a smaller sized person like me, if you are as heavy as a sumo wrestler and you jump in with me on it, I expect you to attend my funeral and take care of my family and gf forever. I will also haunt you.
  2. Don't perform stunts that you deep down in your heart know you cannot achieve like super double jump or  the spinning kick from Street fighter's ken. You will really injure yourself very badly.
  3. Empty your pockets and ensure no protruding hair pins or any other sharp objects, kind of idiot proof because imagine you carry a pocket knife in your pocket and suay suay you land in a fail manner and your knife opens it would be Final Destination 10.
Tips:
  1. Try to get socks that has friction pads at the bottom (the ones whereby there are dot like patterns at the bottom that feels rough to the touch), It really enhances the overall fun factor. I ultimately decided to purchase their socks as my socks are really slippery and caused me to fall every time I land.
  2. Try to watch videos on how other people play, you can perform some simple stunts but at your own risk duh otherwise you would just end up like me just jumping up and down for whole 1 hour.
  3. IT IS COMPULSORY for ALL CUSTOMERS to sign the online E-waiver form. If you are below 18 YOU HAVE TO get your parents/guardian to sign the waiver form for you. No exceptions will be made for anyone if you did not sign the waiver form they will deny you entry with no refund. They have to deny themselves of any legal trouble if something were to happen to you while you are jumping *Touch wood*
  4. You may want to book online in advanced to avoid disappointments such as full house on the actual day of your visit because it is like going home and realize the food that you have been thinking about all day in the fridge has been eaten by some fag.
  5. Please for the love of God, please do not roll yourself around or hug all the pillars or whatever is in there if you look like you just jumped into a swimming pool, its utterly disgusting, there was this guy who was soaking wet and by wet he is obviously drenched in his own sweat and his head is mcm he just bathed or like I said came up after diving into a swimming pool of sweat. His sweat was just dripping all over the pads and trampoline, really a fun killer as we had to avoid wherever he go. Worst of all he is those damn good at jumping one keep pua stunt fly here fly there like the xiao long nu... You may have superb athletic skills  but please take care of your own hygiene... Nobody wants to land face down on your pool of sweat.

Random photos and rants

 Stay over at Alson's house!
Left: Kienli, Centre: Me, Right: Cai Jing
Staying over at Alson's house is quite fun but it is most fun if there was full strength. My BFFs are Kienli, Cai Jing, Alson and Daniel Tan but I don't think they regard me as their BFFs especially this Kien li AKA Kennedy Ong, keep MIA in group chat one and only go out with Cai Jing one. I'm not sure about you but I really cherish friendships alot especially those that have played a major part in my life.

Chauffeuring my other clique friends in my class for a short distance

This one HAHAHAHAH they really lazy omg. I think this photo they keep bugging me to drive them out to the bus stop. We are in Ngee Ann after lecture and they are too lazy to walk out to the bus stop!

 Jurong Hilltop with BFFs

The three of us went to this really eerie place near Jurong Bird Park, it was up a very steep circular hill where it was really dark. I had to flash my high beams at every bend because I was really afraid of any cars that might think there is no incoming vehicle. Accidents happen when you assume that it is clear. Thankfully nothing happened and we reached. It was so dark that I thought I had finished parking my car but when we walked up the spiral tower and looked down, my car was barely in the parking lot HAHAHAHAH but it's okay because it's REALLY SECLUDED.

if you see any parked cars there DO NOT APPROACH unless you want to get raped or something. Couples go there to make out but you really need a car to go up there unless you are willing to hike up Mount Everest. But rubbish aside, the view is really beautiful, it's panoramic view allows us to see almost all of Jurong almost like a bird's eye view. Didn't post the photo because it's really dark, you have to come up and see it for yourself. It's windy and isolated so you can come here and have secret meetings or just enjoying the silence with some chips and drinks. But girls please don't come up alone or with some random guy because it's really dangerous as it is dark and isolated like I mentioned, anything could happen.

Should you wish to come: when you finally reach the top of the hill, you will come across a electronic gantry that has a notice on it saying CLOSED or something, just continue going forward, the barrier will open for you.

Founder's Bak Kut Teh

My bffs and I went to this very famous bak kut teh store at Serangoon area. It's called Founder's Bak Kut Teh, if you enter the restaurant you would not be able to help it but look at their walls. And while eating you would subconsciously find yourself searching the wall for your idol/star/actor. Even Chow Yun Fatt was there before. Local Ah Boys To Men actor Tosh was also there as there was a photo of him and the boss. Overall experience was quite good though, it is air-conditioned as the waiters are quite polite. Price was also quite reasonable although I don't remember how much it cost exactly.

However to be honest, the soup is like meh only. It wasn't strong enough for me I guess, I like strong flavours. The one that I think is still the best is at a market in Jurong East, near the Jurong East Swimming Complex. That one really best, if you want you can tweet or whatsapp me whatever and maybe we can go there to have lunch together, you will not regret it!

Yellow Submarine!

That's right my friends, we went to try out yellow submarine at their outlet at Bugis Junction. The 'burger' itself was alright but their torpedo fries are really awesome. It's kind of pricey though. Whole concept is based on a submarine which is quite creative judging from the names that they have for their food. Cheese fries become torpedo fries, chicken/beef burger become Philly Submarine, their side dishes are called side launchers!

Here is a screen grab of their menu for your reference

School, International Girlfriend's day and food

End of presentations/Sememster

Hello everyone! I really have so many things to post but I really don't know which ones to post. But let me just start off with various presentations that me and my lovely class/group mates have done.

 Financial Management formal presentation

Administration & Management of Programmes for Young Children presentation

Teachers As Researchers FYP Presentation

Project Oriz-T Class project (Class of  3T02 '14)

For my group project, I just couldn't thank them enough.
My group mates are Miss Lena Lee Zhen Yu, Miss Yeo Hui Ru and Miss Helissa Wang. They made it possible for everything to happen despite various hiccups, some were insanely scary, we had to stay in school to complete the physical parts for the FYP presentation. 2 of them didn't even had any sleep at all as they had to finish up the parts where me and another group mate wouldn't be able to assist at our own houses.

They are really nice as they know I'm kind of always lost and don't know what I'm supposed to do. They would tell me what I need to do yet they listens to my input as well although 99.9% of my inputs always get shot down, I am really appreciative of the fact that they actually bothered to listen to what I have to say. Really want to thank Hui Ru the most because I always bug her for our group assignments as she knows that I don't dare to repeatedly ask Lena or Helissa because they will get mad and lash out at me so she would explain again and again and again, gam xia okay HR.

For my class project Oritz-T, it was a success except for the video part which is a huge success-destroyer, the editor is literally the bane of all our efforts. But nonetheless I am impressed by our willingness to overcome all adversity and work together as one to make this a success. We had fun doing everything!

Completed this semester so next semester would be the final battle. Would also like to thank Miss Gina Kuan Pei Shan for always helping me with my individual assignments. Because I really don't know how to start so I would ask her for help on like how to do how to start etc. So thanks alot guys! Ice Kosong on me k HAHAHA!

=======================================================================

Celebrations!

Celebrations are always delightful no matter, what really matters is who you're celebrating with and what you're celebrating for.

Drove my lovely group of monkey-ous and awesome group mates who braved the sun, wind, thunder, cold, embarrassments etc with to complete our group assignments out to Island Creamery and had ice cream and waffles. It was nice but I didn't get any photos because I didn't order any because I was saving money.

 International Girlfriend's day
My cutie girlfriend doesn't even know it is International Girlfriend's day, my group mates and I decided to celebrate again by going to Sakura to have a Japanese Buffet at Dhoby Gaut Green. However due to time constrains and unholy interventions, my girlfriend didn't get to actually join us for the buffet itself but she got to meet my lovely group mates and the both of us went to have lunch (I didn't eat obviously because I just had buffet). Went to Manhattan Fish Market to have her lunchie and we walked around and took quite alot of photos but I'm only gonna post one of the nicest hehe.

Sakura Japanese Buffet
The buffet itself was splendid! I am a sashimi lover so this was actually heaven for me as there was free flow of salmon sashimi! There were really alot of stuff to eat but after going at it for a few rounds you would realize it is actually limited because you had most of the stuff already.
I shall cut this short and let the photos do the talking okay. These are the top 3 favourites of mine that I highly recommend you to go for. Oh yeah and one more tip that most of you should already know is to consume a bowl of hot soup before ingesting raw food for safety reasons!

Must try

  • Oreo Cheesecake
  • BBQ Prawn

A sweet outing with my girlfriend, literally

Can't really remember where we went first but after a little while of enjoying each other's company, I brought her to this place without telling her where we're going for a little extra surprise. She mentioned that she would like to try a rainbow cake and Churros some time back, brought her to try Churros before though. When we finally reached she was still kind of in the dark not knowing what we were going to have. So we actually went to Medzs @ Millenia Walk.
I ordered their signature rainbow cake and their Churros. I actually spent some time debating on which restaurant to go to for rainbow cakes. Really hard to make a choice as they all look so tasty but eventually I chose Medzs, no real reason. Can't really remember the price though, the cake alone should be under $10 if I'm not wrong and their Churros was under $7. They do charge for ice water though. I didn't make a reservation before heading down but it wasn't very packed, in fact it was quite empty at that time of the afternoon.

I can't really taste the different layered flavours as it wasn't THAT strong. Their churros were tasty though, there's a difference between the one we had in Holland V, Orchard Central and this. I don't know how to describe it but there's definitely some subtle difference in the taste and texture. Nonetheless we enjoyed the little treats(:

Adventure Cove, Marina Barrage, Botanic Gardens, Acid Bar, Slappy Cakes & ideas to surprise your girlfriend!

Hey all since it's my holidays and I wish to take a break from working at Sistic, I could start a new blog. Since there are no posts, I'm just gonna posts some photos from last time. Am pretty sure not many people would read it but anyway let's take a look at some events of 2014.

I'll try my best to arrange it in chronological order as mush as I can but given my goldfish memory hmm we shall see LOL!

* Let me just state that I am in NO WAY ENDORSED by anyone/anything, whatever I posted is based solely on my experience and my personal opinions*

Adventure Cove
Went to Adventure Cove with my girlfriend for the first time. It was so fun but the queues were a major mood-spoiler, the longest we had to queue was about 2 hours just to slide down. But nonetheless we had lots of fun because hey it's a couple thing! Legend has it that it is mandatory to take a photo in front of this entrance. The staff who helped me take this shot was very friendly. He provided many tips on our itinerary.

Their lazy pool is amazing, the interior of the caves are so beautifully designed, almost feeling like I'm really in real cave pool. It was decorated with blue ambient lights with life guards at every checkpoint to ensure safety. You would find lots of floats floating around. We grabbed alot to create a barrier between us and the others since not many people wants it.

Must play
  • Spiral Washout
  • Whirl Pool Washout
  • Duel Racer
  • Lazy Pool
Ticket Price:
$36/ Adult
$26/Child(4-12 years old) OR Senior Citizen (60 years and above)

Opening Hours: 10am-6pm daily (Subject to changes)
For more information can click RWS Adventure Cove

TIPS:  Very important to note based on our experience.
  • Bring a waterproof handphone/camera pouch (With neck sling)
  • Bring at least $10 cash and coins (Coins for the lockers, $10 to be placed IN your waterproof casing for food)
You will definitely be hungry after all the fun (BUT NOTE THAT STUFF THERE IS NOT CHEAP AT ALL AS USUAL)
  • Advised to wear cheapo slippers unless you are so vain you want to wear your branded shoes/slippers. Put it in the lockers but we couldn't as our locker was full, we placed it on TOP of the lockers and surprisingly when we came back it was still there!
  • Please drink more water, you won't feel the thirst but I can assure you that with all that fun, you will definitely be dehydrated one way or another
  • Idiot-proof but try not to go on school holidays as it would be insanely packed and the insane queue would undoubtedly dampen your fun
  • Remember to take the mandatory shot, have fun and as always, SAFETY FIRST!

Picnic @ Marina Barrage

As the title states, we went to Marina Barrage and found a sweet spot which had ample shade and privacy yet can still enjoy the beautiful scenery. But nothing is more beautiful than my girlfriend!
We agreed on bringing one home-made food each and we delegated other food/drinks to each other.

I cooked fried rice and she made sandwiches (As usual if you know what I mean)
Bought $2 or $2.50 (can't remember) ANANAS Chicken Rice (DAMN SEDAP I TELL YOU, Hard to find cheap and good chicken rice nowadays)
Bought a bottle of 1.5l coke some chips with nacho cheese, Maker's Mark liqor and sushi. And not to forget desert, astronaut ice cream from our one and only Singapore Science Centre!

The Astronaut Ice Cream tastes alright, can't expect much cause it's freeze dried. She likes it. It simply melts in your mouth like any regular ice cream except it's not cold.

A trip to botanic gardens

She wishes to take photographs of greenery for her art coursework so we went to the botanical gardens!
The mozzies should be very happy because I am feeding them. Mosquitoes like me alot I have no idea why. Anyhow she took her pictures and as always we took some too!

When I saw them banana trees, Bollywood possessed me

Acid Bar

So my friends decided to hangout at this bar so we gave it a try. Staff were quite friendly, we order drinks but didn't order any lychee shots not sure why. However when we came in the staff will check your identification so best to bring it with you ( who doesn't bring their IC with them nowadays hmm). Prolly because one or two of us look like kids (I'm guilty of this okay HAHAHAHA). So they actually gave us a very small round table which could barely sit 4 people but we had 5 people. So after warming those seats we requested for a change of seats, pointing to a sofa-like seat with a larger table. But was informed that those seats were reserved for customers who ordered alot of stuff. We reasoned with them not because we are assholes but the table is really ridiculously small it's like the candle took up 90% of the space ok exaggeration but you get the point. After a little of friendly verbal exchanges, the staff allowed us to take those better seats.

We ordered drinks and eventually ordered fries and their wings which are quite nice. I really love the live singing there. They were barefooted and had really cute socks on (Their style I guess). We requested a few songs and they really sung it, their voices really makes me wonder if there are others who have voices that should be more recognized.

Slappy Cakes @ Old Turf Club

My friends suggested that I bring my girlfriend there so I did. But this place is rather inaccessible, would be alot better that you have a car. I drove there and it was kind of hard to get in there as the road is not very level and it's kind of confusing, 50% was because I'm a noob driver. Drove in to an area which I thought was a carpark ( In my own defence I saw alot of cars parked there carpark style hor) then as I drove in and realized it was like a car display area or repair idk but I drove out and went in further and finally reached the carpark.

The place was very quiet and peaceful, got alot of hot ang moh guys there so if you like ang moh guys or girls can go there *hint hint*. We walked one big round only to realize that the restaurant was right here all along LOL! We went in and to our surprise it was totally empty, we basically owned the restaurant during our entire visit woo! No need to book the whole restaurant to get private dining time. We ordered the buttermilk batter and like 4-5 side add-on. We got the banana, bacon bits, raspberries, strawberry, can't remember the last one though. And not forgetting the maple syrup topping.

Can't really remember exactly how much it cost but the guy gave us the student deal or something so it was around $20 for 2 pax??

In my opinion the toppings were really not up to my expectations, okay la most of the toppings I can accept it but the one thing that I cannot accept is the "Crispy bacon", it was far cry from what the name suggests, okay first of all it was not crispy at all and it was extremely dry like the Sahara desert and the portion was negligible.  The staff who took our order was polite and nice, he explained the set to us. But after he took our order I requested for 2 cups of iced water. Our food eventually came but my iced water never came. It was like waiting for someone to like my photos. I eventually got so thirsty that the drink that comes with my set couldn't quench my thirst and had to request again. Oh yes halfway during our wait, the waiter came out with another waiter and told us to repeat our order... we had to painstakingly recall our orders and he didn't even apologize, he just said it was his mistake that he got it mixed up with other sets. (I don't blame him for making a mistake, everyone makes mistakes but the least he could do was to apologize?) But overall experience was passable though thanks to the peaceful environment. There was a GIANT at the basement which is abit weird since that area is kind of inaccessible without a car. Maybe it's catered for those rich people like those rich ang mohs.

 Ideas to surprise your girlfriend

Hey guys, here are some ideas that you could actually refer to for your girlfriend. Of course I'm not going to say these are easy but it definitely shows your effort. My girlfriend loves it. I got some of these ideas over the internet while researching on stuff that I can do for her when I am free. But obviously you have to be flexible and make changes to suit your needs. Don't follow blindly like the video on youtube write I love you Samantha you don't go writing I love you Samantha on your masterpiece, you would have a heck of a time explaining I swear.
Saw this really cute bear rice set so I decided to give it a try. Not the best but yep she loves it. She couldn't bear to eat it.

Bear lunch box
Ingredients needed:
  1. Rice (1 Cup will do)
  2. Seaweed ( Just get those one rectangular strip ones)
  3. 2 eggs (Pillow)
  4. Ketchup (Decoration)
  5. Slice of cheese (Decoration)
  6. Broccoli (Decoration + healthy)
  7. Water to cook the rice (The water level should be near your knuckles when you place ur palm in the cooker)
  8. Cooking oil (to fry the egg)
Materials needed:
  1.  Knife
  2. Chopsticks
  3. Frying Pan
  4. Rice Cooker
  5. Spatula
  6. Scissors
  7. Saucepan
  8. Bowl
  9. Plate
  10. Food-grade gloves/plastic cling
Steps:
  1. Wash and cook the rice (This takes the longest time)
  2. Go play Dota 2 or whatever game you like until rice finishes cooking
  3. Skip step 3 if you want to be more efficient, prepare the ingredients to something like this (Cut the seaweed, wash container etc)
  4. Beat the eggs
  5. Fry it (For the love of the pillow please don't over do it until it becomes chao ta, you don't sleep on a piece of charcoal do you? So don't make the bear be the first)
  6. Would greatly aid you if you have a rectangular frying pan
  7. Roll it up like a rectangular head pillow and cut a large slice to act as the blanket for the bear
  8. Briefly boil the broccoli (Choose a few stumps of the nicer bits) [Like 30 secs is enough, just kill the germs]
  9. Let the rice cool down abit first
  10. Once rice has cooled, add oil to the pan and start frying it for a little while like 10 secs
  11. Add ketchup until desired colour and fry for about 2 minutes will do as it's already cooked
  12. Knit a ball of rice (PLEASE WEAR FOOD GRADE GLOVES or use food-grade cling wrap, V important if not she eat already food poisoning I swear you will teleport to hell)
  13. Basically make something like this or whatever you like.
  14. Cut the seaweed into your gf's initials and add some ketchup on it.

52 reasons why I love you!
Materials needed:
  1. A Deck of poker cards (Preferably new)
  2. Permanent marker
  3. Colourful scrap paper with designs that she likes
  4. Scissors
  5. Glue (try to use those non-watery glue, please don't use UHU glue, you will AHU AHU later on)
  6. Ruler
Steps:
  1. Put aside the joker cards (Don't throw you will need it later)
  2. Measure the length and breadth (Horizontal and vertical dimensions of the cards)
  3. This is the tedious part, painstakingly cut out the scrap paper into the dimensions as measured 54 times. Good luck bro try not to get angry and tear the cards.
  4. Once you are done, paste them on each card (the playing side) 54 times (including the 2 joker cards)
  5. Write a reason on each playing card
  6. Write the title like this and add your own unique design or decorations with your gf's name

Valentine's day gift (I think)
Actually this one you can give it to her at any time. I don't really make her stuff or cook for her on specific occasions, I just do it whenever I am free as much as I can. You should love your girlfriend everyday not only one day. Thought special occasions do deserve slightly more attention like vday or gf birthday.
Searched high and low for a suitable box, got this box from Daiso as it  has polkadots on it and it's baby pink which is one of my girlfriend's favourite colour
Please don't say I'm cheap, just say economic okay! It's the effort that counts.
The white balls that you see in there are the stuffing, I searched high and low for the strips kind but they were no where to be found...

List of items inside:
*Note the stuff that I included are specifically for my girlfriend only, it's stuff that she likes so please change it accordingly*
  • A bag of chocolate
  • 2 lollipops
  • 2 Strips of sour candy
  • A kinder Joy egg (let's admit it everybody loves the chocolate and surprise toy)
  • A eyebrow pencil that she mentioned that she wants sometime back
  • A mini hang-on-bag hand sanitizer
  • Love note
